Guide to the Webster Technique in Chiropractic Care

The Webster Technique is a very effective chiropractic method utilized for addressing issues in the pelvic region. Learn more about this technique and why Dr. Rhonda Werner and our team at Werner Family Chiropractic in Rock Hill, SC are proud to offer it to our patients below.

What Is the Webster Technique, Anyway?

It was discovered by Dr. Larry Webster, a chiropractor who researched and implemented chiropractic techniques in pediatrics. During his research and personal experience with his daughter's pregnancy, he discovered that misalignment in the pelvic region can cause several issues during pregnancy. This included preventing a baby from turning into the head-down position for childbirth. As such, he developed the technique to address pelvic imbalance in pregnant women.

What Are the Benefits of Using the Webster Technique During Pregnancy?

One of the most well-known benefits is that it addresses any imbalance that might cause a breech birth. Once that imbalance is addressed, the baby can naturally turn into the proper childbirth position. This is a very important benefit, of course, but it’s not the only one.

The Webster Technique focuses on both aligning the pelvis and releasing any issues in the surrounding soft tissues. It has proven to help with everything from tension and back pain to nausea and heartburn. Additionally, women report shorter and less laborious childbirth, as the journey through the birth canal is easier for the baby. These benefits greatly reduce the possibility of needing a C-section.

Is It Only Beneficial for Pregnant Women?

Though it was originally developed for pregnancy, the Webster Technique has proven useful in many other cases. People suffering from back pain, sciatica, hip pain, heartburn, or other symptoms due to an issue in the pelvic region have found relief through the Webster Technique.

We are proud to provide the Webster Technique, as well as various other natural methods, to help every patient we see achieve the relief they desire. Call (803) 329-6361 to schedule an appointment with Dr. Rhonda Werner at Werner Family Chiropractic in Rock Hill, SC today.
